How to translate RPG Maker games for free on PC
Learn how to add a game, choose its text, translate, review, and apply the translation with LRPGM.
What you need
Install LRPGM and keep a compatible copy of the game on your computer. You can sign in with a free account or try guest mode. An account is recommended because it keeps your library and access connected to your profile.
Quick step-by-step guide
1. Open LRPGM and sign in.
2. In My projects, select Add game.
3. Choose the game's .exe file. LRPGM verifies that it is a compatible RPG Maker project.
4. Use Express Translation for a guided setup, or disable Express to control sources, filters, and languages manually.
5. Choose the target language and a translation engine available to your account.
6. Start processing. The application prepares, extracts, and translates the selected text.
7. If review is enabled, check the text in the table or Game Flow view.
8. Select Finalize project to apply the translation.
Content LRPGM can translate
Depending on the game and your available access, LRPGM can recognize map dialogue, common events, system terms, database content, plugins, structured files, and video subtitles. The application displays the detected sources before processing, so you do not need to edit JSON files manually.
Keep a safe copy
In Settings > Advanced, keep safety backups enabled before modifying a game. Removing a project from the library does not delete the original files, but applying a translation changes the selected copy. Use the related articles below for detailed instructions on every stage.
